Klaus Kinski in his autobiography writes about a time he spent in a Portuguese fishing village. A boil slowly grew in his throat. It grew so large that it nearly suffocated him. In a moment of desperation he opened his mouth and jabbed a kitchen knife down his throat. The boil popped and after vomiting blood and fluid, he could breathe.
