Place Setting

The mention of an ibis brings to mind the bill.  It's brilliant orange is all that matters, the color of a candy flame.  The color seems inseparable from the shape, the long sharp narrowness of the bill. To remove the bill would widow the rest of the bird, make it into a midair dollop. The whiteness, the feathery softness sharpens the bill. Paired, the body and the bill, meet at the small cocking head, a yellow eyed libertine masked and strolling the beach.
